CAFCS Executive Board Members

Dr. Janet Fox currently serves as assistant dean of UT Extension and head of the Department
of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.

Rebecca M. Simon is an Instructor in the Division of Agriculture’s Cooperative Extension Service at the University of Arkansas, specializing in Family & Consumer Sciences — based in Little Rock. She serves as a key contact for training and outreach efforts, helping to ensure Extension programs effectively support communities in areas like early childhood development and family life. 

Dr. Amy Yates is a Professor at Louisiana Tech University, where she holds the Sue Huckaby Endowed Professorship in the Department of Human Ecology. She also serves as the university’s liaison to the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences, reflecting her commitment to advancing education and professional engagement in the field.

Dr. Jiyoung Kim is an Associate Dean and Professor in the College of Merchandising, Hospitality, and Tourism at the University of North Texas, where she champions sustainability and digital innovation.

Dr. Rhea Bentley has been employed with South Carolina State University 1890 Research and Extension since May 2023. She is the Program Leader for Family Nutrition and Health.

Danita L. Brookins is the Western Region Program Leader for Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.

Allisen Penn is the Associate Dean and State Program Leader for Extension and Outreach in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Georgia.
