Dr. Cheryl Eschbach

Dr. Cheryl Eschbach serves as Director of the Health and Nutrition Institute at Michigan State University Extension and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. She provides leadership for statewide programs focused on community health, nutrition education, and behavioral health outreach.

A trained gerontologist, Dr. Eschbach has extensive experience in program implementation, evaluation, and community-engaged research. She has secured significant federal and state funding to support initiatives in areas such as opioid misuse prevention, chronic disease management, and rural health.

Dr. Eschbach is widely recognized for her leadership in advancing Cooperative Extension as a model for community-based health education and for her commitment to building partnerships that improve health outcomes.
